BIO/AWARDS Darran Rees was born in Wales and originally trained in Art . Moving from photo-college to London and onto photography in the mid 1990's as the full time assistant to John Claridge , before he turned professional himself.

Based in London and New York he continues to work for some of the most well known International clients, agencies , brands , NGO's and charities , as well as on many personal projects.
Darran was a winner with two images at the 2019 American Photography Awards and also at the 2019 International Black & White Spider awards with two images.
Some of his favourite work has been for the Fair Trade Charity Organisation where he has traveled to remote regions of tea and coffee growing areas of many African countries as well as Peru, Mexico and Nicaragua to photograph the artisans, growers, their land , and , their communities.
Darran was responsible for the UK charity Send a Cow ( Patron HRH Prince of Wales ) 30th anniversary coffee table book with images made in Africa during 2018.
He is currently working on long term projects in America and Romania.
